Have
you ever wanted to learn something new and didn't know where you could
start? Want to start a hobby but need some help? Don't want to pay for
lessons or workshops?
Learning a new language:
If
you're trying to learn a new language or develop one that you have
basic knowledge about, there are a few ways in which you can do it. You
can use websites that provide linguistic lessons (grammar and vocabulary
exercises) or you can try to read a book or articles in that language
or even watch videos, if you have basic knowledge that will allow you to
follow the reading or what is being said in the video.
Duolingo is a great website, both for beginners and more advanced learners of a language. The
exercises are very interactive and you are encouraged to work a little
bit every day - you get email reminders to do your daily exercises. But
you can do it at your own pace.
Learning a skill:
PhotographyLife is all about photography and it has a
page with several photography tips for all levels of knowledge on the
subject. It really is a very comprehensive list of resources. You can read about the basic rules and tips in photography
and it's quite helpful. You can learn a lot on this website.
ArtistWorks
is a website where you can learn various
instruments by watching video lessons. The courses are mostly paid, but
they do offer free lessons to learn to play acoustic guitar over here. The lessons are great and
they go really slow to make sure you understand all the different
aspects of the guitar and how to play it. You can always skip some
videos if you're not an absolute beginner, but you do have to pass a
small quiz in order to get on to the next level of videos.
Others:
Instructables
has tutorials on various things. If you want to try a DIY project but
are not sure how to go about it, instructables will most likely have a
tutorial on it! From food to arts and crafts and even general life
hacks, there's a little bit of everything in there.
HackMyStudy offers various tips and guides on how to
study better, including tips on time management and how to beat
procrastination, as well as guides on how to summarize or memorize your
textbook or notes more effectively. A lot of people struggle
with studying at some point and this just might be the help that you
need.
